Home Moving Grant Available ???

Hi.
I'm disabled and now have to downsize from a 4 bed Housing Association house to a 2 bed, as my 2 grown up daughters are in the process of moving out.
I only have 1 young daughter (under 10) at home, so it will just be me and her.
I'm on disability benefits (PIP & ESA) and I need to move so that I don't have to pay the bedroom tax).
I've tried to find anything that relates to a moving Grant but can only find one if you're a Council tenant or on their waiting list which I'm not. I've found a mutual exchange but now panicking as I don't have the funds !
Can anyone advise please.

Can anyone advise please.A budgeting loan is one possibility. https://www.gov.uk/budgeting-help-benefitsDiscretionary housing payment DHP is another possibility from your local council. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/claiming-discretionary-housing-payments/claiming-discretionary-housing-paymentsDo also be aware that unless you're claiming a severe disability premium in with another benefit and you're moving to a different local council then you will need to claim Universal Credit. New claims for housing benefit are no longer possible unless you're claiming the SDP.

Talk to your HA Housing Officer and ask if they know of any grants you could apply for.

There's another suggestion but didn't know quite how to word it. If you are in a trade union, or are or were in a professional body, it is possible that they'll have a benevolent fund you could apply to. Think laterally ...Signature removed for peace of mind1

Have a look at Turn2us website for possible grants and trust funds.1
