Using Branded parts

Basic Question, would using for example Toyota genuine parts over just general ones that arent specifically Toyota mean that those parts will last less long then Toyotas own? Thank You :)

It has to depend on the quality of the parts. I suspect many "genuine" Toyota parts are made by the same company which makes an alternative, and probably cheaper, aftermarket item. I would say no, in many cases, the non "genuine" could be more durable.
I, personally, use Toyota branded parts and I'm willing to pay a bit extra for perceived quality.

There's three basic categories of parts.

Original - manufacturer boxed and branded.
OEM quality - same quality as original, but in the parts manufacturer's box and branding.
    Pattern - lower quality.

Some pattern are perfectly decent. Some are made of a cheese- and-chocolate alloy called "ebayium".

Good parts supply websites will show you what brands are available for what price.

    Define 'genuine'.

Almost certainly, 'genuine' parts supplied by a vehicle manufacturer (VM) are not manufactured by the VM but by a sub-contractor.  VMs try/tried to ensure that services and repairs had to use 'genuine' parts to ensure that their warranties were not voided.  Generally speaking, this is nonsense and amounts to revenue protection as 'genuine' parts are likely to cost more.

Of course, whichever parts are  used, they must do the job!

Some people are reassured by the suggestion that VMs will not allow their brand to be attached to poor quality materials.

totally depends on what the part is and what manufacturer makes it. you are better off finding the specific part you are looking at buying, and asking here or on Facebook group or somewhere. provide a link to it.

For what it's worth, in my experience cheap knock off parts have always been fine.
