Brunel Street Works by Linden Homes / Galliford Try

I am a first time buyer contemplating of buying an apartment in Brunel Street Works. I am seeing some very mixed reviews about this development.
When you google 'Brunel Street Works', you get some great reviews of what is being built. For example, look up 'Brunel Street Works' on buildington.co.uk. and worldconstructionnetwork.com. Howeverhen you google about 'Linden Homes' or 'Galliford Try' developers, you get some really worrying reviews. For example, look up 'Linden homes' and 'Galliford Try' on UK Trust Pilot.
I am surprised how such a 'flagship development' is being developed by a developer with such bad reviews.
As a first time buyer, what tips would one have specifically for such mixed reviews development? Any suggestions would be immensely helpful.

Hi, it's a different development to yours but i'm currently waiting for my Linden Homes property to be finished being built which i've already exchanged on. I too was worried about the negative reviews so did some checking. If there are already properties sold on the estate i would suggest writing some really friendly letters asking how people have found the moving process, customer care and build quality, pop your email address on and post them through some doors on the new estate. I found people were happy to drop me an email with their experiences which were pretty positive so we went ahead.
Just FYI - Galliford Try sold Linden Homes to Bovis Homes in January this year which isn't necessarily a good thing as Bovis reviews are equally as bad0 -
New builds are a bit hit and miss, some people are really happy with their homes and other people have loads of problems that they struggle to get sorted. Also, a lot of reviews in general get posted by people who want to complain so you will hear the most about the bad ones.
If it was up to me though, I wouldn't gamble on a new build as the investment is far too big to be worth the risk of getting a house of horrors. I bought a 1930s ex-council house a few months ago that had been modernised throughout (even the roof is only 10 years old) and I'm very happy with that.0
