Am I a new customer to Nat West if I have a RBS account?

I have a RBS current account that I use for my everyday banking as well as a TSB current account and am thinking of switching the TSB account to a Nat West Select account to get the £175 bonus as I only use the TSB account for the interest.
Will I be eligible to switch the TSB account if I already have a RBS current account?

Have you had a switch incentive from RBS at any point before?
If not, then you would be eligible for the incentive with NatWest.

    • You won’t be eligible for this offer if you’ve already taken advantage of a cash offer from NatWest, The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (‘RBS’) and/or Ulster Bank Limited (‘Ulster’) between October 2017 and 11th February 2020 for:
     (i) opening a new current account and switching to RBS/NatWest/Ulster or
(ii) upgrading your existing NatWest current account.

Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 2027

I've applied and been accepted and just noticed I can get an other £3 a month by transferring a couple of direct debits.
More than I get for 2 in my Santander Lite.
I think my  just new Santander Lite is going to become redundant.

You will be a new customer as far as NatWest is concerned. The switch incentive however might exclude you since it specifies if you've received an incentive from either NatWest or RBS - simply having the account doesn't automatically exclude you from the offer since it is available to existing customers as well. That said, a few people have mentioned that their cross-checking is a bit lax, so you might have luck anyway getting the NatWest incentive even if you've previously had one from RBS.

Personally I'd keep both - use your Santander 123 Lite to get cashback on household DDs and then get the £5/month from both NatWest and RBS reward accounts. All you need are 4 extra DDs, ideally ones that are not eligible for Santander cashback.
