apologies if this has  already been posted, iv'e been on the coventry bs regular saver issue 2 link and on the application page it states the variable rate is being reduced to 1.85% from 6th may 2020.
That's a little naughty that don't advertise it until proceed to application!! Been expecting a drop from them so no real surprise, hopefully they will bring out a new issue soon allowing another £500 deposits!!

This link suggests that Issue 1 of the Coventry Regular Saver was reduced from 2.50% to 2.20% on 10th April: https://coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/content/dam/cbs/consumer/pdf/savings/Closed%20products.pdf

I received no notification of this but when I just checked my account it is still showing as earning 2.50%. Did anyone else receive notification of a rate change?

Does anyone know if Conventry would usually let you withdraw penalty free if they reduce the interest rate?

With the Monmouth a/c.... does the monthly payment have to be by standing order, or can it be F payment. Can the amount and date be varied each month? Thanks

This relates to the old Swindon & Stroud regular saver.
    From Progessive_uk’s post on 28/03/20;
“In a post in February I outlined the changes to the old Stroud & Swindon BS Regular Savings Account. It was announced last week this has gone down to 2.05% amongst other changes.
    Interest rate history is now:
    2010: 4.5%
    June 2013: 3.5%
    Sept 2016: 3.1%
    Aug 2017: 2.75%
    Dec 2017: 3.00%
    March 2018: 2.8%
    Aug 2019: 2.55%
    Feb 2020: 2.20%
    Apr 2020: 2.05%”

Likewise, had no notification on my or Mrs bobblehat's RS by email or letter and still showing as 2.5% online.

Interestingly(?), there is no indication of the Issue number of my RS anywhere that I can find on the online pages. It was opened Nov 25th 2019 …. guess I'll have to see if it's on any paperwork  ….. carefully stored away somewhere

Thank you, the information displayed on the Coventry site is really not clear at all.

I faced the same problem but discovered that Issue 1 was only available 27.09.2019 to 02.01.2020 (https://coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/consumer/savings-accounts/closed-accounts/Other-savings.html).

The Coventry RS is a relatively new account, so there isn't any experience yet. I gather they will shortly be writing to all account holders about the drop so we will know soon.
