This thread used to be so useful. It is such a pity that it has been spoiled and rendered virtually useless by selfish forum members. And I think it is disrespectful to SS2 who put so much work into it.
Twenty new posts, and not one of them on topic (including this one).21 -
I'll consider myself told off and never mention Gatehouse again!1

This thread is still useful, most of the information on this thread is related to regular savers and it certainly hasn't been ``rendered virtually useless", on the contrary it remains one of the most useful threads on the savings/investments board IMHO.Nick_C said:This thread used to be so useful. I'm nearing 1000 days of being on this forum and in this time I've learnt so much from the contributions of those who take the time to post in this thread, the vast majority of whom I certainly would not consider to be ``selfish forum members" at all, if anything they are more selfless than selfish and I'm grateful that they take the time to share their knowledge, insight and experiences here.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who contribute to this thread (including those who have made posts within the last 2 pages) with a special thanks to @Special_Saver2 who has done a sterling job at maintaining it.38 -
I used to get email notifications for this thread but had to turn them off as I got so many emails and often the posts weren't useful to me. But I imagine plenty of people here do find the thread useful.Nick_C said:This thread used to be so useful. Perhaps a 'no chat' Regular savers thread would be more useful for people like me who just want to know when new accounts become available.11 -
Indeed. Could HAVE. Must HAVE. Should HAVE!Middle_of_the_Road said:

The sad part is that these mostly non value add comments creep up again and again every couple of weeks. Felt like we had at least 20 pages of Gatehouse chit chat before with the same over an over again, something that was helpful for maybe the first few comments and repetition after. I didn't have that reg saver so all of it was not of value to me but I know it was to many others.Stargunner said:

I wish there would be more NO CHAT threads, just stating the facts. Before somebody tells me I could start one, I don't have the time.
but usually save reaction... it's HAVEI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?2 -
Unfortunately, there's not a spectacular new regular saver coming to the market every day. Where else are we to discuss the workings of the available offerings, if not here?Nick_C said:This thread used to be so useful. Agreed . And when a new RS comes along that is what the discussion naturally evolves into.Middle_of_the_Road said:

Opened and funded in about 2 minutes and as had closed and renewed issue 1 couple weeks ago am a happy bunny!2 -
I actually find the off topic posts relevant. I know there's those who it annoys, but it's not difficult to scroll past.Nick_C said:This thread used to be so useful. I wouldn't necessarily see other threads, that would contain information relevant to people that frequent this thread.
Lately there has been a particular agitant that seems to have taken a dislike to those who go off-thead, but is quite happy to go off thread themselvesI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?10 -
Market Harboroughkippo1 said:Just opened a market harborough fixed term account and had a look at what other accounts i could apply for,
in the apply for menu was the fixed 6% regular saver so i applied online and it let me have it even though on the first page of this thread it said branch only.
it also said you can have two reg savers with a max of £3750 between the two,so could i apply for another one and deposit £250 a month into each until i have £3750.
Thanks
Saw above post so opened Easy Access ISA(available to open online for anyone) then applied for and opened Reg Saver as then available online.
Thanks @kippo13
