Vested shares in the UK

Hi there,
I currently have an online account holding approx 30k of vested shares awarded to me from my previous employer with whom I was made redundant. I know that all shares are in the vested account and can be sold without tax or national insurance but I am trying to find out if their sale would be subject to capital gains tax or any other charges apart from the small fee the current management company that is holding them for me would charge. I have read various things mentioning, on one hand a flat capital gains tax rate of 18% and then on the other hand that since 2016 in the UK if the value is less than 50k there would be no capital gains tax applied
