The thing is, you can always create shade. You can't create sun. :)
You don't live in Devon though. Always 'sunny' here. :)

Ha!  We moved to Devon at the beginning of November 2019 and bar a couple of days, it has rained every day.

Ah, sorry, you chose the wrong bit! Common mistake.
The trick is to avoid places where the rain comes in off the sea, the high bits where you disappear into the clouds for half the winter and the parts where the cold air rolls off the moors at night to envelop you in mist. You want the bits to the lee of the moors, but not too close, mind. Then, you'll be in the rain shadow area, where it's very sunny all most much of the time. B)

We are buying a new build and i just want to know if my garden will get sun at some points through the day.  I have attached a picture, north is striaght up etc. We are plot 17.  The house to the left is a taller house as has dorma third floor. Thank you
I think you will get the morning sun.

Our garden is easterly facing and it is bathed in sunshine in the morning but by 5pm the sun has gone around to the other gable of the house. The front of our house is south facing and every room bar the downstairs loo and third bedroom has a south facing window so the house is bright and sunny and sometimes it is nice to escape the sun and heat in the garden of an evening.
