O/S Daily Sunday 23 February 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, windy and raining, seems set in for the day.
DH in the bath, after watching some catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying a cuppa whilst on here, DS1 still in his pit, DS2 is up, dressed and almost ready to leave to go back to his "home". Possibly it will be Easter before we see him again.
Dinner last night was a naughty takeaway pizza from our favourite independant pizza shop - excellent they are and loads cheaper than the big chains!
Lunch today will be later and will be pie and mash with veg and gravy.
Back to work tomorrow - this weekend seems to have flown by.
Keep safe and well x

Morning, very windy outside today, the windows are rattling and the trees bending almost in half BUT thankfully it's not raining again! I shall be so happy when we get some gentler and warmer weather and I can get outside again and enjoy it rather than this scuttling from the house to the shops or the car and scuttling back again as soon as can be achieved. DD1 is waiting for Dynarod to arrive to unblock pipes so we shan't see them this morning but we are going for our usual Sunday morning coffee to one of the garden centres. Nothing planned other than that, no country drive because although the main roads are passable some of the back roads are still flooded. Rugby on the TV this afternoon will stop us feeling stir-crazy so that's a good thing. A little catching up on ironing will happen at some time today and that is our day today! Have a good one everyone xxx.12

Morning
Missed yesterday as I read back my post and it soooo boring it would have sent you all to sleep can't promise anything else at the moment but bear with me
Made a lush chilli in the slow cooker first thing yesterday which brewed all day had with crusty bread and there's a couple of portions left for the freezer. Today its a LO Christmas ham roast dinner and as I know I can peel spuds now may do a big tray full and freeze some of them too. Yorkies or not the big debate is on (are you asleep yet?) Friends came over in the afternoon so it was lovely to be spoilt for a bit
Today its my official lazy day (in almost all the unofficial ones atm) but the dishwasher needs emptying so will move my !!!!!! at some point. Hope your days are significantly more exciting than mine12 -
Morning All
Sounds like a good day Nelski!
Hope you're feeling better this morning RR, that's a bit of a shock to the system.
I'm going to tackle the big cupboard in the kitchen, it goes round to under the stairs and has become full of 'stuff'. Hoping to have a good clean and tidy.
Yesterday's outing didn't happen, too many people poorly. Can't say I was that sorry as I'm still not feeling 100% so it will be rebooked when everyone's better.
Happy Sunday, take care. XX14 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Rain again for us too but only forecast until lunchtime - hmm we'll see about that! Just for a change there is snow forecast for Northern hills tomorrow - that'll be us then!
If this bug hasn't dragged me down enough I now have an eruption of cold sores on my lips. They feel like bunches of grapes hanging there but don't actually look as bad as they feel!
My Friday Tidy (of sorts!) got done yesterday and later I popped to Aldi for my top up shop. Now well stocked with F & v and fridge stuff. A small gammon joint cooking for my lunch and will be enjoyed with lots of the said veg and more butternut squash roasties.
It's TA versus the SK day. The bedding is now in the wm and will be festooned round the back (warmest) bedroom to dry when it's finished. The clean sheet is on but I have yet to put the clean duvet cover on - I am still psyching myself up for that job!! Once that's done it will be feet up with my book for the rest of the day.
Have a good day folks. Hope you enjoyed your night on the town GERS! ((HUGS)) for all in need of them and take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning ,
It is my OH birthday today, we were going to go to a garden centre, but as it is raining and windy and our travels would take us on a motorway, we have decided it is safer to just pop to the local for Sunday lunch to celebrate his birthday .
Have a good Sunday all

Morning all, I've been browsing around for ages so thought I'd better get cracking.Last night was so blooming lovely! Seems as half my neighbourhood was there, and my neighbours are mostly miles away. 🤣 I had two glasses of wine, not wee small Paris glasses mind you and some interesting chats. Two of the guests are involved in gold mining further north, fascinating. Favourite conversations were about music so I need to go and look up some recommendations. And then there was another lovely chat with the taxi driver on the way home, he was from Chad - still don't understand why he left sun soaked Chad for wet bedraggled Scotland. 😱DM was fine when I rolled in at 11.30. Her friend gave her supper and a flask of tea.Working well there NEKSKI
Take things easy CAMELOT, TA and all the other folk under the weather, perhaps being under the duvet will help?Right, moving time, at least as far as the shower. I've got Ant and Dec to watch 🤣🤣
Happy Sunday to all.13 -
Morning all
Wet and very windy here and set in for the day I think, I have a wash on the go and OH managed to fix the TD which is brilliant and at least we can dry things now, yesterday I gave the bathroom window sill another coat and sprayed the air vent cover thing back to black so OH will put that back up today.
Roast pork for dinner with all the trimmings and we may have a walk to the pub later for a drink and a go on the meat raffle, need to tidy through and get the bathroom back to some sort of order.
My car is booked in for its MOT tomorrow so I will sit and wait while thats being done, there is a sainsburys opposite so I can nip in there for anything we need and maybe have a coffee.
Nels your day does not sound boring at all, it sounds nice and restful, hope you are doing ok xx
Have good days all xx

Morning allI made the most of a lie-in this morning because we have some early starts coming up for blood tests. I'm not a morning person and by Thurs I'll be shattered as I can never seem to get back the sleep I lose. We've had torrential rain over night but it's stopped for now. It's still a gusting wind and doesn't look very favourable though. It's supposed to be Sunday lunch with Dad day, but we'll see later if the weather has put him off. Saying that he might chance it as he needs Mr Fix It to do his car tax on line. In any case I hope he's in a better mood today, he will probably be sweetness and light as he wants something. We will have pork chops today for lunch with roasties and veg, so not too taxingNelski make some yorkies if you feel up to it because you could freeze them too. Keep up the good work BFF and I'm still shaking those pom-poms for you. ( Sorry, that sounds just plain rude
)
Gers glad you had a good night out.ILC hope you and OH have a lovely birthday lunch. Wish him happy birthday from me.TA my money is on you ! The SK doesn't have a chance of wining. Is it the best of 2 falls or a submission ?I suppose I'd better get dressed and prep some pots and veg. Boooooring !!! I fancy a PJ day really.Hugs to all the poorly ones and those who are in need.Take care and keep those feet dry.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11
