we took our car for a service today, they have said about getting both lower arms replaced at a cost of £112 each (per part) £58 labour and then vat on top of that.. overpriced?
it is for a toyota yaris.
car has done 80,000 miles.. is this wearing a bit premature or expected for this milage?
every time we take it to certain garages they always mention front toe/wheel tracking - its beginning to feel like a rip of way of getting a quick £50 out of you.. is it?
Thank you!

If the lower arms bushes and/or ball joints are worn, then it will cause the wheel tracking to be out and accelerate tyre wear. The prices don't sound overly expensive, I put a pair on a 2011 Yaris recently and they were £109 each.80,000 out of the originals is pretty reasonable, modern traffic claiming humps and bumps tend to give suspension parts a hard time, as does bumping up and down kerbs.I presume by the way you're asking about the tracking is they want to recheck it when they fit the new arms? That's probably wise as the new arms will change the geometry slightly.0

£58 is only about an hour’s labour. Anything could have worn out after 80,000 miles. Is this post a wind-up?1
