LCWRA backpay?

Sorry to keep asking questions but this stuff confuses me.
I’ve been awarded LCWRA for 10th July 2019. My assessment period is 21st to the 20th of each month and get paid the 27th so can someone explain which month ill get the backpay from? Tia

When did you first report the medical condition?

The LCWRA element is payable for the fourth assessment period after you reported your health condition. If you reported the condition on 10th July then the LCWRA element will be payable in the payment due on 27th November and thereafter.

No. It’s payable for the fourth complete assessment period after you report the health condition. So the 10th to 20th June is ignored. First period is 21st June to 20th July, second is 21st July to 20th August, third is 21st August to 20th September. Fourth period is 21st September to 20th October and the LCWRA will be included in the payment made on 27th October.

Brilliant, thank you. Is there a time frame for when they usually pay the packpay?
  • Mine was a couple of weeks in total after the decision; I had a letter appear in my journal with the calculation of what they owed, and then it went into my bank a few days later. When you get the letter, just double-check that they've worked it out correctly!

Hi Spoonie, I was just wondering how your backpayment went into your account? I have been awarded LCWRA and have been given back pay, it was send on 15/03 but still nothing in my bank and they have said there isn’t any payments from DWP. Was it a BACs payment and did it go in at a certain time? Thanks

I don't know exactly, sorry, nor when it was sent vs when it arrived.  It has BGC at the end of the reference number, which I assumed meant Bank Giro Credit but on my bank it calls it a Third party payment (whereas my regular benefits are called Bank giro credit by the bank).  Sorry I can't be any more help.

Once payment is sent it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank. Are you sure it was sent on 15th?
