So much for buying from a local florist!

Decided to have some flowers delivered for a relatives birthday. Rather than use some random Interflora florist I decided to use a florist local to the lady they were being delivered to. Found a website for a shop in the same village less than a quarter of a mile from her address and ordered from them for delivery today. The shops website quotes 'Fresh flowers delivered same day within a 10 mile radius'. Perfect I thought.
Rang the lady to wish her happy birthday and no mention of any flowers being delivered. Checked my emails and it shows they were delivered today and left in the porch (she does not have a porch and has been in all day) then looked at the tracking. Apparently they were delivered to a central hub yesterday morning, the hub is 135 miles away from the delivery address!! and after being there all night they were sent out today with a Yodel driver who left them in the porch.

Ive used Intaflora several times but this time thought that if I ordered flowers direct from a shop in the recipients own village and paid the shop direct via their own website it would just be cutting out the middle man and at the same time supporting a small local business.
When I ordered them on the shops website it quoted that they delivered fresh flowers every day within a 10 mile radius so I had no idea that the flowers I was ordering would be spending all the previous night at a central hub 135 miles away and then have a 7 hour journey in the back of a Yodel van. According to the tracking the flowers had 3 separate journeys totalling over 12 hours from being prepared. A bit strange when I ordered direct from a shop almost round the corner from the delivery address.
The website even has a prompt at checkout saying 'Delivery restricted to a ten mile radius of the shop'.

Have you been in touch with the shop and asked why the flowers went on their own magical mystery tour?
Not sure about your point re delivery:
Yodel said they left them in the porch.
You say she doesn't have a porch?
Does the recipient have the flowers?
Is she happy with the flowers?1 -
Completely opposite experiences with a local florist many times, the difference being that I go to the florist shop myself and choose the flowers from amongst the fresh shop stock. I realise that you possibly could not do this, but it is always best to visit the shop.
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
