I opened a Marcus account last summer but havent used it.
Yesterday i thought i would start using it. I sent £1 from my first direct current account as a test payment. This is the account registered against my Marcus account.
i logged in to Marcus a few hours later and the balance was still zero.
i logged on to my first direct account this morning. It showed the £1 payment I made to Marcus.
It also showed a credit of £1 yesterday reference "Goldman Sachs Inte" (sic).
So they have returned my deposit. No idea why. No transactions showing on Marcus. Used the correct Marcus account number to send the deposit to.
Very odd.

You can only send money from the linked bank account, was it the right account? You can check the details in your marcus account in the 'how to add money' section in the menu.
Nothing to see here, move along.0 -

EDIT: Not going to lose any sleep over this. Not exactly paying out a fortune as an interest rate anyway.0 -
If you don't put any money in at all within a certain time eg one month, a lot of building societies close the account.0

Possibly viewed as potentially fraudulent or suspicious activity? It's not normal practice to open an account and then not fund it for 8 months or so. However, there does not appear to be any time limit for funding it in the T&C's, and the minimum balance is i£1.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I had my money returned on Marcus I believe after I sent money for the first time. But I had an email explaining why. Think I had to upload a few bank statements and then it worked.0
