My tenants moved out on 15 January without notice. My flat is in negative equity. Contacted mortgage company and explained the situation with the sale at shortfall team. Got home report. Put the flat on the market on Wednesday. Went tonight to check on the flat and there has been water dripping from upstairs flat into my bathroom and kitchen. Not too much water but will probably have damaged the ceilings when it dries out. Had to turn electric off. This has been a constant issue with the flat upstairs and the landlord not fixing things properly. I’ve already reported him to the local council. I’m at my wits end. I’m trying to do everything right but it’s getting on top of me now. I wish I’d never bought the flat in the first place. I just want it gone

Yes, it does sometimes seem as if fate waits until you are down and then kicks you in the teeth! Scotsgirl, I hope you are soon able to see a way forward.
    It's not difficult!

    'Wonder' - to feel curious.
  • What area is the flat in?

How much has it been valued at?

I also note you haven't yet put up your SOA on the other board.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • It’s in Scotland. It’s been valued at £60,000. I owe £72,000. I’ve cut costs as much as I can on my SOA and given it to my mortgage company. I didn’t see the point in posting it as it can’t be cut any more

When did you buy it, if I can ask?

I bought it in 2007 before everything crashed

You're doing the right thing, I promise.

The darkest hour really is before dawn, that was the perfect thing to say @Skiddaw1
