I'm just about ready to give up, so many posts for the same comp sometimes I'm entering twice as there hasn't been any way to tell if I've entered or not. I've just nearly entered a competition that had its closing date 2019!
Why did they have to change this forum, it ran so smoothly before.

I am trying to filter by date I title but most for today dates seem to be in game over?? Where are all the open comps?? Confused and frustrated 🙁🙁
You are advised not to enter on the closing date - competitions may finish anytime during the day and competitions may (very rarely) be moved to game over up to a couple of days early. (set out in the guide)

"WARNING: If you are entering comps on the day or even the day before they end you run the risk that perhaps the comp has closed a little early & your entry won't be counted. Another thing to bear in mind is that the Board Guides volunteer hours of their time to keep these boards clear & running smoothly so sometimes comps which are ending today or perhaps tomorrow (in rare cases) may be moved to Game Over a little early - this is a task which has to fit around their real lives & also when they have some spare 'online' time.
    SUGGESTION
: If you really want to only enter comps right when they are ending then I strongly suggest you get a couple of days ahead of yourself to avoid the above. "

(Also check the search is only for this year and not previous Febs)
I've been trying to enter competitions a couple of days ahead but when I go into the link there is nothing there.

the entered button will show you if have used it and you can see that once you are in a thread if you are searching or from the thread list if you are just browsing as they are listed

I have saved this link for searching end dates, change date as required
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search?adv=1&search=&title=E%3A+07%2F02&author=&cat=72&tags=&discussion_d=1&within=6+months&date=today
To check whether entered, click the compliment button, if the number decreases you have already entered.
A workaround only, far from ideal!

Apart from the TAB/Puzzler threads and a few others the "entered/skipped" buttons are  the easiest way to go for the vast majority of threads - they show on the basic thread list index and if you are doing a search which means they do not show on the list they still show as entered/skipped if you open the thread.

@libra10 That search, used for today, returns 101 results and includes 1 comp ending 20/02 which is in GO and one which ends 29/02. In the thread at, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6105585/searching-by-e-20-02-showing-old-expired-comps#latest, One-Eye has provided a link which, again used for today, returns 99 results, omitting the two spurious ones.
One-Eye also stresses that a search using a date such as E: 26/02 does only return correctly formatted dates and would not include wrongly formatted ones such as just 26/02 i.e. missing out the E: or E: 26/2 and other common mistakes.
  • Every cloud has a silver lining - Less comps means I am almost up to date with EVERYTHING posted - something I have never managed in 8 plus years lol :D
