How long does TSB take to issue electronic statements?
I've only had a TSB credit card a few weeks. My first statement date was yesterday, 20 January (i.e., the statement should include transactions up to then). When I logged on to TSB's Internet Banking this morning, I expected to download my statement. However, none was waiting there. I had a lot of difficulty persuading their system to accept an instruction to produce paperless statements, and am mildly concerned that a paper statement will still be produced, even though Internet Banking does now say that I should not get that.
(Yes, of course I could phone TSB and ask. But I have more confidence in forum users than in their call centre.)

Gerry1 said:It's not called the Totally Screwed Bank for nothing !That description might have been accurate a year or two ago, when it had its IT meltdown. However, I don't believe that it is now. My experience over the last month has generally been favourable. On the whole, I'm happy with TSB. The issue that I'm currently experiencing is only a very minor hiccup. Whilst my experience is admittedly limited, I'd expect any long-term annoyances to have exposed themselves by now. Of course, it could suffer another near-total IT failure, but I rather think that it'll take more care to avoid that particular risk in the future - "once bitten, twice shy".If any bank deserves the epithet "totally screwed", in my view it's the Royal Bank of Scotland. I've regretted being sucked in by its switching offer since almost immediately after I was.

Oh they really are still screwed up! About every fortnight or so, they e-mail me to tell me there is 'new correspondence in my inbox', but more often than not, when I log in there's nothing there!
Based on my experience, they will issue you an online statement, but a few days after they say. At that point they'll e-mail you (probably) and when you log in you may or may not get an error trying to open it!1 -
What does it show in the statements list ? Just because the statement is due 20th does not mean it will be produced on that date. Mine was due 18th and was available on line 21st dated 19th.

It was clear from the information displayed to me when I logged on yesterday that (a) the statement had been generated, (b) it was dated 20 February. It just hadn't been put in the right place for me to see or download it.I ended up speaking to TSB late yesterday (Friday). I was on the phone for over 30 minutes, mostly on hold, and got passed from one department to another. Very tedious. One of the men to whom I spoke could even see the bank's copy of my statement. They eventually admitted that my statement should have been produced late on Thursday (20 January) and available for me to download yesterday morning. In other words, their intentions matched my expectations. However, their credit card system had had "a bit of a glitch" on Thursday evening, and this was probably why I couldn't see the statement. They asked me to wait until Monday, i.e., after the weekend, when they thought that it would be available. In the event, it was available to me when I logged on this morning, and I have now downloaded it.

I believe the phone operators were talking rubbish, they hadn't really got a clue. The statement is never available on the due date, it usually shows 2 to 3 days later. That is why I asked what was showing on the statements page as that gives you an indication of if the statement is in production.
