This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning everyone
I have cheered up a lot now as we have the grandchildren staying here overnight and they really brighten my day. Hopefully they are still fast asleep as I heard them chatting to each other at 11pm last night! I had another rubbish night's sleep but I have had a lovely cup of tea made by Phoebe before she goes off to work. I have also snaffled the last couple of slices of bread for toast. You snooze you lose quite literally. There is plenty of cereal in the cupboard and we have shopping coming this morning so I don't feel bad.
I have a huge paperwork toad croaking at me so that will be my plan for today. I have been avoiding it for 3 weeks but I really must get it sorted out. Apart from that I have nothing else planned apart from making some unicorn egg covers ready for Easter.
My brain has stopped working properly so I will say goodbye for now. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Morning everyone
dumjpling - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark and cold start to the day here, but not raining at the moment - wind and rain forecast again.
DH up and getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. Both boys still in their pits, I can't hear any movement as yet.
Dinner last night was chicken in spanish sauce, veg rice and mushroom and noodle chow mein,2 last of the chocolate gateau for dessert all eaten and enjoyed. Tonight will be something quick and chips.
I was busy and productive again yesterday - I just need to keep going with the washing and drying.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Dolly walked and fed just having a cuppa before i start the friday clean . I need some advice I am a larger lady and its DD2s wedding in April I have 2 dresses that I have purchased and are suitable but nothing super special . I have enquired about having an outfit made but this will be £450-£500 I am not sure I want to spend this on one outfit but then i feel i should as its my daughters wedding so words of wisdom please ladies n gents.
Not much going on here today just need to wash the floors and do the towel wash I need to drop DS at the station for 2.30pm so i will pop to Aldi after for my fresh bits the freezer and cupboards are full as DH is ill with a cough and runny nose but when you blow it not runny nose so he has been coming in and going straight to bed after a tin of soup .
Dumpling glad you are feeling a bit better this weather certainly doesn't help
Hugs to all those who are unwell or looking after poorlies have a great day whatever you are up to xxSlava Ukraini15 -
Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING for the start. We have heavy rain forecast AGAIN but all is quiet at the moment.
A quickie from me as DS is coming to take me and Sparkle to the vets for the result of the biopsies at 9.00 I have fingers crossed it is only an allergy and , if so, hope there is treatment for her poorly chin.
The DGDs are still asleep and, after a late night, hope they remain so for a while. I am trusting leaving them as they are sensible girls and the eldest (15) has promised to keep an eye on the other two. They will be happy enough watching tv (or their phones!) We shouldn't be gone long/
As they are here all day there will be no Friday Tidy but, the way I feel, there wouldn't have been anyway. I feel lifeless. Hopefully by tomorrow I will have shaken this bug off.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them and take care one and all. Stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -
Morning All
Well done to your DD Bella and hope you find your special dress.
RR - hope you rested after the painting!
Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better this morning dumpling.
Good luck to Sparkle this morning and feel better soon TA.
I'm fed up here at home so I'm going to work, it's Friday and a short day for me so should be OK. The anti-Bs are nearly finished, they didn't work the miracle I thought they would but will just have to be patient (not my strong point!).
Hugs to those in need, well done on some more decluttering Gers!
Happy Friday, take care. XX16 -
Morning all, dry and clear here today, not sure it's going to stay all day but crossing fingers.
DUMPLING - So glad your heart is feeling lighter today, simple pleasures. Don't work to hard.
BELLABELLA - Not sure I am going to be much help in the dress department, no kids so have not had the occasion for something extra special. That does sound a lot of money. I suppose my only advice would be to find something you really like and that feels comfortable and makes you feel confident when you put it on. I'm sure you will look amazing whatever you choose.
It's going to be a bitty sort of a day, washing, tidying etc. Off for a walk this afternoon with my neighbour who doggy sits our other neighbours pooches, hopeful the weather stays fine.
Hugs to all those those that need them.
Be kind to yourselves and have a great day whatever your plans.x

Morning
Sounds pretty steep Bella..,personally I would buy a special dress from a posh shop that I really loved and maybe some accessories. Keep looking till you find the right one then keep the rest of the money for your daughters do.....you will love the day whatever you wear
Had a lazy day yesterday too lazy actually that led to me feeling really down and pretty useless so wont be doing that again, Friday tidy it is and hopefully a terrorist visit ...the last one before I am passed to the community
One small success yesterday (well big for me) was a trip to the bin! Its not a massive achievement but after 6 weeks inside it was good to walk the 30 steps to the bin in fresh air. Who would ever thought that would be a goal
Need to rummage in the freezer for dinner, carbonara was good last night so may be soma pasta based again
Hope you all have a good day and rubes Im keeping everything crossed for today xx

Good morning, it's dry here but v windy this morning.Bella, about your outfit - have you thought of booking an appointment with a personal shopper at one of the big stores? A friend of mine did for her grandson's wedding and found them very good. If you tell them your budget they pick out clothes for you after a consultation. . Just a thought anyway. My house is like a tip, I can't seem to get myself motivated - I keep starting then stopping. I'm not ill or anything, just restless, keep wandering the house, picking things up and putting them down. I'll try and do better today.Hope you soon feel better TA, also others who aren't well. Also TA, hope Sparkle will be all right.Take care folks14

Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread Dumpling.
I didn't post yesterday because I had nothing of interest to say. Today's highlight will be a fascinating trip to the post office and to buy birdseed. Tomorrow I'll be working and several days next week.
Sending supportive thoughts to those of us who are unwell or worried.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15
