It's your legal right as a consumer to withdraw from a finance deal within 14 days, check the terms and conditions but it has to be in there by law. Secondly, by EU law they cannot offer a financial incentive and not uphold it even if you withdraw from the finance. Again check the terms but it is law.
Finally, yeah I wouldn't go back to same dealer as they miss out commission, but meh, that's life
  • If the finance is with VWFS you can settled within 14 days and keep all your dealer perks.
Done it few times with Skoda and Seat dealers.

All I'll say is don't grumble when the only dealers that are left are back street ones and the likes of Arnold Shark.

Nonsense.  The customer decides to shop online for many things to support US businesses, who is to blame when the only business left is Amazon and we bemoan that things are more expensive than they used to be.  Feel free to make short term gains in exchange for long term losses in exchange for poorer service.

In the short term, or the longer term?  What happens when there is no competition?  Do you think prices go down?  you poor naïve soul.

No wonder this country is sin such a situation.  People don't look beyond the end of their noses...

You can still save money while helping the local family run dealer stay in business.  But then there are some who'd rather save money right now and don't give two monkey's !!!!!! about what happens in the future...

Ok, you pay the high price and keep businesses afloat, we will pay the low prices and balance it out 🙃
edit: nice editting your post, this isn't a case of buying local though bit different in the car world..

I edited my post to add more detail before your reply.  Trying to suggest I edited after your post is disingenuous at best.  It adds nothing to your viewpoint.
Retail is retail is retail.  Squeeze the small dealers out you end up with only the big ones who charge the admin fees, and then you struggle to get any decent deals because there is little or no competition.
Short termism is what is killing the high street at every turn, and yes it includes vehicle retail.

For the record I’m looking at buying from a main dealer so they certainly aren’t small. For balance, last time I bought manufacturer approved the car needed new brakes and wiper blades and they didn’t want to know. So it goes both ways.

Appreciate all the advice guys. Thanks very much.
