Getting life insurance for insulin dependent type 1 diabetics

Hi just wondering if anyone can help or advise me.  I am 32 years old and have been a type 1 diabetic since i was 11, (since November when i took out a mortgage for my 1st property) i have been trying to get life insurance/income protection but this has been declined by several companies. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

OP, I'm T1 myself, but only got diagnosed at age 37 (surprisingly old!).  Normally, if a diabetic is getting declined it is because there is one of a few things happening.  Either your HbA1c is showing that there's a poor level of control (over 10% on the old scale) OR there's been hospital admissions in the fairly recent past due to things like Diabetic Ketoacidosis OR you're experiencing side effects such as kidney function issues, retinopathy, neuropathy. 

Does this give you an idea of why you might be getting declined?
