Estate Agents and Selling House.

  • You don't very often get a resale property very close to a new build price, there is normally a new build premium in the market. (Actually, I know of one popular estate a couple of villages away which does, but people are attracted by the Waitrose on that development).

Do not wait until Friday for this meeting, you are giving them even more time to get past the 14 days. Demand a meeting tomorrow.

I would also be getting one of my friends to make a vague call to the Estate Agent - asking for any details of houses that meet your requirements - when I sold my flat in 2013 - we did it and they were pushing new builds down the road... We moved agent and the flat sold on first viewing.

We recently moved into a new build, and sold a new build. We were with Taylor Wimpey on both houses (same estate, we've moved from a 3 to a 4 bed). We did the Easymover scheme, where TW organised an assisted sale for us. They went with two agencies and we were off the market and sold within three weeks.
