The word "bond" could mean many different things, from the safest government guaranteed (up to £85k) fixed term savings account to extremely risky mini-bonds.

I do. I only put money in safe, fully FSCS protected bonds. Which means interest rates not much over 2%.
I have also seen plenty of examples of people on this forum getting suckered into investing in high risk "bonds" by high interest rates. And then losing their entire investment.0
