Misleading annual statements for stocks and shares ISAs

Although I understand the difference between the different charges , I have some sympathy with the OP's view that the info provided is difficult to undertand for the general public who have been encouraged to invest in ISA's etc . When I first started to look more deeply into my pensions some years ago etc , I found all the different charging systems confusing . I had three workplace pensions with household names .
One charged 1% on the total amount , but zero for the funds . Another charged zero but 1 % for the funds . The third charged a platform charge and for the funds. Also only after a phone call about another issue I discovered one of them had a 0.5% discount . Then with two ISA's- I understood the funds I was in but had never investigated the charging structure - again both completely different . So when the uninitiated start looking in to these issues , it's all about as clear as mud and I have to say probably an element of it being done deliberately .
I think you are wrong that people won’t be checking it. I would suggest that most people investing in funds understand the difference between fund charges and platform charges.
I think you are probably wrong about this . I would guess that most people with funds in pensions and ISA's would even know what a fund or platform actually was, never mind the charges.
