After getting a lump sum for early retirement and going part time I'm now debt free and have put most of the money into a managed investment portfolio.
But I have held 15k back, 'just in case', but I'm confused about where best to place it so it earns some money but where I have access to it if needed, say within a month.
ISA, savings account, premium bonds? I'm really confused. Can anyone recommend a route to take that will fit my needs?

Thanks eskbanker.
After looking through the links I think a Virgin Money 2 year fixed ISA looks good for now. Interest is 1.5% and money can still be accessed if needed by losing 90 days interest, which wouldn't be much in any case.
Does anyone agree this looks a sensible approach?0
