Worcester 24i Junior NG

Morning all. Over weekend encountered an issue where the boiler made a noise, like a clatter when was calling for heating. It had been off o er weekend as was away. Now whenever it calls for heat it makes a clatter and gurgle from inside the boiler, and then switches off.

Hot water however is fine after I reset. So at present o have the heating switched off and using hot water as usual. Only thing to add however is while running the water it does ever so slightly splurt to, bit I am talking very little.

I tried heating last night and it ran until the timer switched it off, which makes it even more annoying. Just this morning it had tried to come on again and frapped out.

Any help appreciated. Not a professional to add, just a user 👍

Thanks
Nathan

Is there pressure in the central heating system?  What's the gauge showing?

    How old is the boiler?
When my heating sometime stopped coming on at the timed setting in the morning I changed the batteries in the thermostat but they needed changing again after a couple of weeks.
I then discovered all I needed to do was remove then replace the batteries so I contacted Worcester Bosch as my heating was still under guarantee.
An engineer came the next day and replaced the non programmable thermostat with a programmable thermostat, he also serviced the boiler as well, all at no cost, so give them a call.

Yes, quite old now I guess in terms of life. Will give the battery's a go and see if that throws any solutions. Just with the gurgling, but I guess it's not giving enough time to purge if switching off 👍
