When pound shops open again you get a big tub of slug pellets for guess what, £1.0

Slugs are not classed as vermin, unlike grey squirrels. There are no laws to protect slugs, a legal situation I fully support. There are laws to protect the environment, a legal situation I also fully support.I am asked by a poster to be mindful of the environmental damage caused by slug pellets, to date I have found no research that shows how slug pellets harm or damage the environment and I would be horrified to find I was ruining the environment. I'm sure I am not.
As to pound shop slug pellets......not quite the case anymore. The packages got smaller, and ours now has a larger size at £1.75. Still cheapest about though..._0 -
As with other pressing matters, the government made a decision and then changed its mind on metaldehyde pellets in agriculture. Now many of us are confused, just as we are about the banning and unbanning of Asulox, the most effective bracken control, where even the distributor seems uncertain and asks potential buyers to contact them for the latest info.Fortunately, whatever governments think, chemicals do not go in and out of existence when they issue a decree, so those of us with a little foresight may have 'one or two' containers of forbidden stuff hidden behind the lawnmower and old bikes.Back in 2002 (I think) the EU banned many effective chemicals, including one I still use on red spider mite. It actually works!0
