Disputed Returns

I securely packed 4 items (2 pairs if boots, a hoodie and a dress) into a box and returned them to Esprit on the 8th February. On the 14th February, I received an email to say that they were going to refund me for 1 dress. When I emailed them to ask about the other three items, they said there was nothing else in the box. After more emails they’ve now told me there was also a pair of jeggings in the box. I’ve never ordered jeggings from them so they can’t have been in the box. Obviously they’ve mixed up my returns with someone else. What can I do and what are my rights. My order was £127 and the goods I’ve returned were worth £99. Can I ask my credit card company to look into it for me?

If you can prove they received the package (something signed by them) then you might have a chargeback right. 
Who arranged the returns?

I had a returns label so I just stuck that on the box and took it to the post office. They’ve obviously received my returns form and the dress, they’re just saying there was nothing else in the box. When I questioned this they then said they’d checked and there was a pair of jeggings in the box. This was my first ever order with them and I didn’t order jeggings. They were probably someone else’s returns.
