Loft Foam Insulation Quote

I wanted to see how much open cell foam loft insulation would cost for our semi-detached 3 bedroom house in Scotland would be. The guy came round, spent 30 mins in the loft (doing what I'm not sure, didn't have any tools that I could see). Then quoted me £7760 for the job. I actually laughed. Please tell me this is a ridiculous quote or is it somehow just a very expensive operation?

Please tell us you are not considering spray foam....That stuff is probably the worst thing to use in a loft space. Despite the sales claims, it will trap moisture within the roof timbers, stick like !!!!!! to anything/everything, and cause no end of trouble if you need to replace a tile/slate. The stuff also gives of toxic fumes as it cures. If you want extra insulation in your loft, buy a few rolls of fibreglass from B&Q and lay it yourself - Probably cost less than £100 and won't cause any damage. Also easy to remove should it ever need to.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1
