Slow draining bathroom sink
Bored
As mentioned in the title I have a very slow draining bathroom sink and I'm not sure how to resolve it - I've tried using a foam unblocker but it didn't seem to have any effect. As I live in a high-rise building, is this likely to be be exclusively a problem with my sink or could it be related to other drainage issues in the building? I'm not sure whether to keep trying DIY solutions, call a plumber or talk to the handyman in the building.

Have you taken the trap off and checked it, might simply be blocked.1

I would have checked that, but I actually have the world's most ridiculous sink and there is no way to access it.TadleyBaggie said:Have you taken the trap off and checked it, might simply be blocked.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000

I'm also really confused as to what would be blocking it since only soap and water ever goes down the bathroom sink.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000

Does someone wash off their make-up in the sink? Foundation is a very effective pipe blocker, along with hairs and muck washed off hands and faces. A drain worm (£10 ish from a hardware store) will work wonders in most cases, but some slimline traps are not compatable. Also a kettle or two of boiling water can help.

Nope - I use make-up remover wipes and throw them in the bin. I don't have a drain worm but I ordered this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XKK5RDW) a few hours ago - what do you reckon?daivid said:Does someone wash off their make-up in the sink?
