Change to TSB Classic Plus interest

I've just followed the link from the Banking page to open a TSB account and they are advising that the interest rate will fall from 3% to 1.5% on 2/5/20. I was intending to use this account for funds that I can tie up so better options are available.

From May, the TSB Classic account interest rate is reducing from 3% to 1½%. As soon as my house move is done, I will be off. It was worth the occasional mistakes and internet incompetence whilst it was 5% on the Classic and the Monthly Saver, up to £2,500. Then they reduced it to (up to) £1,500. Then 3%. This is the last straw, I will probably go back to NW. No branch within 22 miles, but I am now used to internet and mobile banking. (took a while to get there at my age)
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Great.
Today ill I’ll be having lasagne for dinner.

It's still not a 'bad' rate when compared to others (which are 'all' falling anyway). Look at the MSE best rate tables. You can get more if you tie up for 1/2/3 years0

Well thanks for all that criticism. I posted that yesterday after returning from hospital, a little woozy and having received the good news that I am in remission. At almost 75 I don't always get things right, so excuse me for my imperfections, I didn't realise I was amongst the perfect here. I believed I was making someone aware of an issue and didn't realise that there was another Thread until after I posted. Maybe I'll leave it to the experts from now on.

That's far more important than any replies on this thread.
Enjoy your weekend.8 -
