Comping Guide

Having just skimmed through the comping guide to find something, have noticed its really out of date, not just with the new forum but even with the info, it mentions Golden Balls comps for instance which haven't run for years! How do we go about updating/rewriting it?

The existing guide is properly old and obviously takes no account of the new forum and other things that are now not applicable so with so much to change starting a new one would probably be best3

Love you too @toniq xxxYes I'm very much aware the forum has changed and that some of the stuff in the Guide is woefully out of date
When the forum changed on 7th Feb and I saw we could now upload images directly without having to use an image host I thought this would be great for updating the Guide. (It lost all it's images when Photobucket changed their TOS and wanted to charge me to host the Guide images.)
BUT: I saw someone posted a day or two perhaps after the move to this new style forum that they tried to edit something in an old post of theirs and they had to butcher the content to save in the new forum as it seems to have a much lower character limit on each post. (Each post in the Guide is rather large and I didn't want to risk starting to edit if I had to lose most of it.) I would have already been back into the Guide posts and started editing if I'd not seen that post!I'm waiting to see if that character count gets extended, so I can strip the Guide back to bare bones and rebuild it.Also, there are still a lot of features that weren't fully working, when I last checked, (ordering threads / enter & skip button on main forum view to name just a couple) and are on the development team's To-Do List. So a full Guide re-write at the moment would be out of date again pretty fast and would need fairly constant attention.Although I'm happy to re-write the Comping Guide once the dust settles, I don't have the time at the moment to "babysit" it for each iteration of change in the short term.If the general conscensus is a Comping Guide is needed right now with everything we currently have and you don't want to wait to get back to some semblance of a working Comp forum please be my guest and have a go at writing the Comping Guide - Next Generation.
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out10 -
Thanks for your reply, you make lots of sense in what you say about holding off for a while. I'm glad you have it in hand as such, it is a mammoth task so I don't envy you but I'm glad you are still around and happy to update it as the forum sorts out the snags.
For what it's worth, I update the Daily thread most days with no issues, and that carried over from the old forum. It's no where near as big as your guide, but the edits do work. I did copy and paste to a separate document when the forum changed just in case, but it all seems to be ok... touch wood.
Thanks again, and I look forward to reading Chapter 2 at some point
