Hard Credit Check No Service

I recently requested a quote for a new personal lease contract for a vehicle, I was happy with the quote so agreed to the credit check and paid a deposit to secure the vehicle. The credit check passed no problem. A week later the company contacted me to say they had made an error and the quote provided could not be honoured.
What, if any legislations covers when a company can carry out a credit check and if it is in good faith etc?

That all sounds fine. No legislation breached with the credit check, all mainstream lenders would carry one out for finance. Any pricing errors don't impact that.0
