I currently use 2 gas meters, house and Nursery(plants). As of end June the business will effectively close (retirement) so will not be using gas from end of April. Is there a particular way of notifying the current supplier that we do not want them to continue charging the day rate or is a plain old letter all that is required.
ps Not smart meters.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Ring your supplier up and ask them - you are in a business contract for the Nursery.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
