Bank Account Advice please

My daughter will shortly be going off to work for a Cruise Line company on a 6 month contract. She is a UK Taxpayer, however will be paid monthly in Euros. She will be travelling Worldwide. Any opinions / advice on the most suitable bank account, which would  allow her access to her salary, without being penalised too heavily on the conversion rates. Many thanks

I would recommend either Monzo or the RBS Bo - both are run on smartphone and give good overseas conversion on their debit cards

In fact I would get both...

get a Starling account and then open the Starling Euro account.
She can get paid straight into the Euro account and use the debit card straight from the Euro account.
Monzo really struggles to receive international payments.
Bo is just a pre paid card (that actually runs on Starling's systems).

I also recommend that she opens a Starling Bank account on her smartphone, to receive her salary directly to the euro account IBAN, convert to pounds if and when necessary (perfect interbank rates with very reasonable 0.4% fee), and use the Starling debit card worldwide totally fee-free.

An additional fee-free 'travel' debit or credit card, see the MSE articles, is also advisable
    Evolution, not revolution

Agreed. I believe Starling is Mastercard, so the additional card should preferably be a VISA card

One more vote for Starling. It offers all she needs - both euro account and fee free spending/ATM withdrawals abroad.

With the added option/advise to use Transferwise if she needs to convert the Euro to GBP for spending in the UK, if the Starling rate of 0.4% is too much to swallow.

A very similar question as asked on here recently.
Your daughter should be looking tinto this since shes old enough to be working on a cruise liner.
