Tesco Pay app

Please be wary when using the Tesco pay app.  When I tried to pay for my shopping the assistant said the payment failed. She tried 3 times and eventually I paid by card.  I then checked my banking app and discovered it had taken the payment 4 times. After a very stressful time the manager managed to reverse one of the payments. This was the best he could do.  I contacted customer service but they said I had to wait till the payments dropped off from my pending bank items.  They said it would take a day or two. I called my building society and they told me it would be at least 7 days before I could access my money again.  This was now leaving me unable to access over two hundred pounds of my own money for over a week.  I called customer service back but they said there was nothing they could do. They offered me a £20 reward as compensation    I declined the offer as after being left with now money for over a week and having to borrow money from family plus all the stress I felt it was an insult.  If you do use the app check your account right away.

£20 interest on £200 for just a week's investment? 
Sounds great to me, I think someone is cutting off their nose to spite their face...

They didn't actually take your money.  They just incorrectly ring fenced the failed transactions for a week.

I have no idea why you turned down a free £20.  Seems an odd decision
