remapping

hi im getting my car remapped, it is currently at 182hp and torque 240nm, when remapped it should be 190hp and torque 340nm, will there be much difference in the performance of my car and would it be worth the money?

Probably not on both.  I'd suggest informing your insurance co before you do so.
  • If you don't understand the physics behind the numbers and units you're quoting then no, it's not worth the money.

Yes you will notice a difference.
Is it worth it? That's subjective. Define "worth".
If by spending c£4-500 on a proper remap with rolling road set up and bespoke to your engine - this is the best way to go.
Having some bloke with a laptop role up to your house flash the ecu in 15 mins, charge you £200 for the priveledge and not even test the car - this is not the best way to go.

Personally have a 2.0 diesel, mapped properly. has seen me through 130k miles, and the fuel saving when cruising on a motorway paid for itself within about a year or so. However, use the accelerator too much and the fuel usage can go up as quick as the points on your license.
Other things to watch out for - gearbox limits, my car is recommended as no more than 420nm through the 'box. Some companies will map higher than this, but not recommended without additional strength in clutch gearbox etc.
