Work car scheme insurance

Hi, my husband is on a works car scheme and is possibly coming off to purchase his own car. He has their insurance and has 7+ years of not claiming.  My question is should he be entitled to a n.c.d and if not, he is named on my insurance, would he be able to claim a n.c.d. on that.  I hope I've explained myself well.
T.i.a. Michelle.

Some Insurers will allow it but you must check with them first alternatively use a broker and tell them up front about it

He isn't entitled to a NCD.
But when I was in a similar position, my wife rang her insurer, and they gave me a quote which was effectively full NCD.  And they promised that as long as I stayed with them for a year I'd get a renewal letter showing full NCD.
  • If my company car drivers want to show proof of no claims I write them letter on company headed paper stating who insured us over the last 5 years and state that the driver had no accidents or no fault claims. (Obviously only if true) this seems to keep the insurers happy.
  • Thank you all for taking time to reply. I will contact My insurance see what they say. Thanks again.  😊😊

If they're not helpful, shop around. It's worth consulting a local broker.
