Dual insurance on the same car M&S
Hello,
I have two insurance policies on the same car.
I got a renewal quote from M&S in August 2019 for my car. But instead of accepting it I took new insurance from the same company M&S. My new insurance was taken on 31 Aug2019. Than the M&S renewed old insurance anyway on the 2nd of Sep 2019.
Sill as I am I did not notice that renewal one started as well. And only today I realized that I have been paying for two car insurance policies from M&S. New one £28, and renewed one £35 since Sept 2019. I taught that I don't have to cancel the renewal if I take new insurance in the same company.
But it gets more complicated. I had an accident on 4th Feb 2020 - hit in the back, not my fault, and unfortunately, I just found out this claim has been added to the old renewed insurance.
I called M&S and the customer service was kind of short with me telling me that I should have canceled the renewal and it's my fault.
I don't know what to do. I would like my car accident claim to be on my new insurance, not the old renewed one. But I am worried that if I move it it will cause lots of problems. the customer advisor said she can move it but she doesn't know what the consequences will be and my insurance premium might go higher because of that,
I am totally confused what to do.... please give me some advice. She also said that I would get a refund on one insurance if I put a claim in the claims department.

why start another thread? What's wrong with the answers you've been given over on the insurance board? All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

One thing to bear in mind is that any no claims bonus that you have can normally only be used on one policy at a time so as you have 2 policies running, M&S are within their rights to cancel one (which if they do, will mean your having to declare a cancelled policy) or to increase the premium to allow for the zero NCB.0

Just cancel the second one before they do as the NCB was already in use on the renewed one, there might even be a refund, and not worry about it.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)
