Has anybody had  any experience of trying to compost down 100% woollen items like old sweaters in compost heaps?.  I know man-made fibres don't rot down but  wondered whether 100% natural products do rot down successfully.
How  long would it take in an active compost heap?

If you have rhubarb use it there. The Yorkshire rhubarb triangle uses a mix of 'shoddy' and horse poo traditionally on its crops. 'Shoddy' is the wool scraps from fleeces processed in the wool industry.

We have our hair cut at home and the trimmings, along with what we brush out of the dog, goes around the rhubarb.  As we also have horses the rhubarb is happy as Larry, some of it is being forced as we speak.   Or you can cut it up and mix in the compost..._
