Rats and wood lice - our rights?

Mice come where there is food. You need to make sure you tidy up all the crumbs your children leave around, all your bread and cooking produce. Can you get a cat?0

It was an old stone cottage and whilst the landlord usually approved pest control measures when we reported it, the pests kept returning as he didn't want to spend the money to sort the routes of entry. We stopped reporting it eventually, then moved. I know mice are bacteria-ridden horrors but I still think coming downstairs and standing on a huge slug in bare feet will go down as my worst house-pest nightmare.1

If our cat is anything to go by, it could well exacerbate the problem rather than offer a solution. Our boy is very good at catching mice but then insists on bringing them home (usually in middle of night) to show us. Mouse escapes cat, we chase mouse around house, mouse escapes.....5 -
You found the mouse and put down a trap which killed the mouse.
You have reported the mouse invasion to the Lettings agents who say they have been in contact with the Landlord.
How quickly do you expect the Landlord to respond ?
Other posters have already given good advice about clearing any food bits and sealed plastic containers.
Give the LA/LL a few days to get someone in.
Do you want rat poison boxes in the property with young children ?
Maybe buy a few more traps to see if any more furry friends visit you.0 -
