    Well even @ 1.5% on £1.5K it is better than many current accounts.

    You used to be able to open a standard account and then upgrade it to a classic plus, so I did that a few times.

    You used to be able to open a standard account and then upgrade it to a classic plus, so I did that a few times. 
    you mean you open several standard accounts, and then upgrate it to classic plus.

    Yep, you used to be able to open an infinite number of Classic accounts and then upgrade them to Plus. The upgrade loophole got fixed some time ago, sadly. Not that it would be really worth it any longer now for 1.5%.

    1.5% instant access on up to £85k is still good in the current climate.
    NB: this does not mean I have 56ish current accounts with TSB.
