If the OP's paperwork (you do have paperwork for the transaction, OP - yes?) mentions the manufacturer and not the former owner, then the contract is with the manufacturer and is thus a B2C contract; in which case the full gamut of consumer rights apply. But that's the million dollar question that only the OP can answer ... what does the paperwork say?0

So the finance document lists me as the customer, and underneath it lists the credit intermediary and this is shown as the Horsebox company. It doesn’t say they are acting on behalf of someone else.0

The finance is muddying the waters unfortunately. Who did the finance company forward the money to?
I think you have to go and talk to the manufacturer and see what they say, keep it friendly and you never know they may offer something.
If they say not our problem you bought it from Joe Bloggs then you have to decide whether it is worth the fight.0 -
I’ve been in touch with the finance company and they released the funds to the horsebox company. He said he gets on very well with the MD, and didn’t want to throw him under the bus but said it’s his responsibility to sort.
Ive now approached the company and asked what the next step is and made them aware of it.0 -
Update: heard back from the horsebox company. They’ve booked it in for a full respray. Thanks for your help guys.2
