Thanks for all the good wishes.... and good wishes back to everyone else poorly. Still feel all achy and sore though the spots in my mouth seem a bit better. Managed to get a doctors appointment for this afternoon after pressing redial 130 times! Just feel I should get myself checked as I don't know whether I should still be feeling so poorly.
The wind has howled here all night again and is still going..... I was listening to podcasts in the early hours as I couldn't sleep.
Youngest Dd dropped me so food off yesterday afternoon.... a strange assortment of yellow stickers items including a heart shaped valentines doughnut!
Really missing little grand daughter... Haven't seen seen her since last Wednesday. DD sent me a video of her clapping her hands to 'if you're happy and you know it' They were back in hospital Saturday night as little one was so sick that her tube came out but happily home again Sunday afternoon.
Eldest DD changed my flights to the end of August so we'll have our trip to Copenhagen then. Only a smallish amount of difference to pay.
Well I'm going to read for a little while before I get home.Going to try to spend the day out of bed today.
Hope everyone has a good day

@camelot1001 I managed to injure my ribs when I had a cough the other week and they are taking a while to go. My pain was actually in my side, but I ended up going to the minor injuries at the local A&E , and they told me pain was coming from my ribs. Morning all & lots of get well wishes sent to poorlies, and thinking of you today RR. Nelski you sound positive today- well done it must be so hard when you're used to being so independent and busy .Dog walked, still a lake on the edge of the park but had my long wellies on so we were ok and she had her paddle
DS arrived back from his trip with his mates skiing, they seem to have had a good time.
DH and I ended up going to a country pub for a late lunch yesterday afternoon so no cooking for me as DS1 was also out. I'll cook the chicken today that I got out yesterday but will need to rummage in the freezer for something else for DS2.Heard yesterday from a neighbour that 2 households on the other side of town who were put up in a hotel when we got flooded in 2015 have been affected again, devastating for them. We all really think that without the road collapsing at the front and so making remedial work essential, we would have been in the same position again too. It was months of disruption at the time but we are so grateful now.Right better go and do something useful, take care and stay safe x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Sun shining but the wind is vicious. It poured all day yesterday, several places flooded on the way to Melton.
Laundry in the washer, it will be going in the dryer, I must order the new rope for the washing line and get it up, afraid the old one will snap if too much weight is put on it.
Hester is ok she has been posting on her blog.
No idea re tonights supper......might be a ready meal, we have 4 more to try from the freezer. Rhubarb crumble left from yesterday for dessert.9 -
Morning all! Sunny and windy and rainy today so far, nothing like a spot of alltogether weather...Ohs mam coming over later to do some washing [their kitchen is being redone and they've run out of undies...] so coffee on the cards, probably better go and get some milk and cake [ run out of the former, the latter is for fun]. I think a walk might be in order to Lidls and back which neatly kills two birds.Have put the water on the do the dishes, will rummage in freezer for tonights supper, it's time to start depleting the stocks I think. This could be the start of weird and wonderful meals...No other plans for today, I should start writing myself lists of things to do so I don't spend my day lazing around and thinking of nothing. My sister is not far from a flooded area but luckily lives up a slight hill so has not been directly affected except where the rain runs down the back garden it's flooded a small area out the back and she can't go out anywhere for a bit. Her stocking is better than mine though so she won't run out of anything for a while.Well, commiserations, hankies and hot toddies to those who are ill, and painkillers and soothing creams...Nelski, it's good to know your head hasn't been affected, now there's more brain available for developing fiendish strategies for ballet domination.. cheer cheer! RR, fortitude. Gers, how very clever! I got a telling by someone not much younger than me about the 'older generation' [he meant me] sometimes getting confused with apps and how to do technology gubbins..If I'd had a handbag I'd have hit him with it but i gritted my teeth and nodded politely...Hey all reading along, hope you're doing OK, Muddy Monday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

HelloWe are feeling a bit better this morning, but we had to go out to check on our caravan as it's stored near a river
. Lots of flotsam was decluttered from around the base of it
It seems the river burst it's banks yesterday and flooded the storage compound. Luckily the water just kept on going past our van ( about 6ins high judging from the water mark on the wheels ) but left debris on it's way out, so no damage........ Phew ! The river still has a flood warning on it, so fingers crossed. One friend however wasn't so lucky and has lost his brand new 'van which was situated on a local site about 10 miles away, they are absolutely gutted
Further down the valley are flooded fields and houses and the local boating lake is now a boating sea ! Most of our roads are clear though and we are ok as we live half way up a mountain. ( we're more likely to suffer landslides and end up in DD's garden
)
Now I am clearing the washing mountain that has built up, 'cos I didn't feel up to it, so it's a good job I spent most of the time in PJ'splus, I've lost some weight too ! I shall strip the bed later then remake it, albeit very slowly.
Hope everyone else is well and dry !Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones.nan

Afternoon from a drier but still blustery Gloucestershire. We've walked today but a couple of sharp little showers still caught us as we did so. Back home now and had a cuppa and feeling warmer. The lake is brimming, the brook is galloping along and the roads in every direction from the village are beginning to be passable again after being closed due to flooding yesterday so we may venture out tomorrow as long as we don't get much more rain.
The old saying 'February brings the weather' is a true one isn't it?
