O/S Daily Monday 17 February 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, blustery start to the day again, wet underfoot but we're not flooded like some areas,
DH up and gone to work, both DS and DS2 still in their pits - enjoying a lie-in as they're both on leave this week. I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here.
We were chilled yesterday and roast pork was delicious - there's enough LO meat for another meal, also some mash, and yorkshires too - so that will become a meal either tonight or tomorrow. Back to work today - so we'll see what that brings.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Wet and windy here, the wind is due to die down around 10. It hasn't been too bad here, hope you are all safe and well.
Thinking of you today RR.
How are you this morning dp1?
Back to the hard work Nelski, take it easy.
Still feeling rotten, will try for a Drs appt today, not sure if I have pulled a muscle in my chest from coughing or the virus has gone to my chest. I'll go to work as I can't phone for an appt until 8.30 anyway.
I did absolutely nothing yesterday apart from watch TV whilst laid on the sofa, didn't even feel bored!
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX13 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC for the new thread.Wind and rain still with us again. So many people have been flooded out it's heartbreaking to see.
I have had the most rubbish night ever. I started with a cold yesterday and spent the day sniffling and peffing and feeling sorry for myself! I seem to have been awake more than I have been asleep all night. The two youngest DGDs were dropped off last night for sleepover and to amuse all day today, Blooming school holidays!. Eldest is still on her team building exercise in Scotland and not due back until tonight. Mind you, they entertain themselves most of the time nowadays. As long as Grandma is there to provide sustenance that's the main thing!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care one and all and stay safe if out and about xx

Good morning, it is wet underfoot and the garden is a quagmire but at least it has stopped raining. The pictures of flooded areas are very sad, we have been lucky here.
First load of washing is just about ready to go on a rack, not much point in putting it out today.
Nelski, dp1 I'm thinking of you and anyone else who is unwell and especially RedRuby.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15 -
Good morning, it's damp here, not raining at the moment though.i wasn't out yesterday, but today i'm going into Newcastle to meet a friend, I haven't seen her since last year so there'll be plenty to talk about. She used to live near me but moved about 30 miles away a few years ago, and Newcastle is easy to get to for both of us.Thinking of you and your physios Nelski, they sound scary!!Also RR, and DP1.TA, hope you feel better soon.Take care folks15

Morning
Lots of poorly people today. Camelot hope you get an appointment and get this sorted sounds like you could do with being at home TA hope the kids are well behaved for you then you can rest up, rubes big love for today you will be on my mind xx Healing vibes to you all
The annoying thing about this is I don't feel remotely ill and could quite happy crack on with a busy day at the usual pace but sadly the body wont obey. Did lots over the weekend on the exercise front and have set myself step targets now so no slacking here. I tentatively tried crutches yesterday and feel that they helped me walk more naturally...will probably get the Paddington hard stare from the physios but they are not here for a lot of hours in the day
Friend came round yesterday and changed the bedding along with a hoover. She brought cake (always welcome) which we scoffed. Had a turkey roast dinner last night minus the roasts....going to try peeling spuds today and if not will have to swallow my pride and get some frozen ones.
Hope everyone has a more exciting day than me get well soon y'all xx14 -
Morning all
Still pouring with rain here and has been for over 24 hrs now its still blowy as well, we took the dogs out yesterday and they both got so muddy they were covered from head to foot they both had a bath when they got in which caused them to do zoomies round and round the house !
Thanks again for the good wishes we are leaving here ar 12.30 my appointment is not till 1.40 but it takes about 1/2 hr to get there and I have to be there 20 mins early, I cant say im looking forward to it but needs must and all that !
The rest of the roast beef for dinner tonight which is nice and easy and will just need heating through.
Camelot you really should not be going to work take care xx
DP1 hope you feel better soon xx
Have good days all xx

Good morning folks.Seems that our sick bay is full up today 😱 So many with aches, pains, coughs, colds, going for scans, having physio assorted other ailments. I wish everyone a quick recovery. February certainly is a dark month. My heart goes out to all those who have beeb devastated by storm Dennis.I noticed this morning that the lights were on in my own home which means there's been a power cut there. As they are Wi-fi controlled so I was able to switch them off via my phone app.Sunday was quiet, I stayed in my pjs all day. DM slept a lot of the time, only rousing for food and drink. Today she's having a couple of friends visiting her this afternoon. I've got extra cake all ready. This morning was very bright though the sky is darkening over as I write, rain may be coming. Now, I hope that everyone has a happy Monday.14

I'll be thinking of you Ruby.
We seem to have lost Speky and Hester in the move as well as Jackie, I hope they find their way back to us.
We're off to Laura's today for baby cuddles and kisses. He had another bad day with his teeth yesterday so hopefully I can give Laura a bit of respite. She's got yoga tonight and Brian too so we have Esben to ourselves for a few hours.13
