Contract of employment - missing details Redundancy

A family member currently works for DHL but previous to that since the late 1980's started out at DSL then was TUPE transferred a few times.

Old contract stated that if made redundant employees wound receive 2.5 weeks salary per years service if made redundant.
None of this paperwork can be found at DHL regarding old contracts. The union so far haven't been helpful and seem in the Managements pockets.

This is a major problem as staff has been warned site is closing down so staff will have to go.

Any advice most welcome

Your family member can produce their own copies of old contracts, together with the letters confirming TUPE transfers, to show the chain of employment.  However, that does not mean that a condition that was in a contract 40 years ago still exists.

They have info on TUPE transfers but not details relating to original contract. Very few of original  staff in workplace now most left.

i know its far from idea as statutory amounts are quite low
