Can I cancel a holiday booking (with a credit card deposit paid), within 24 hours without penalty? All advice appreciated.

it depends....who was it booked with and do they offer "free 24 hour cancellation"?
if not then any refund would be identified in the terms and conditions agreed to, if it was booked on a "low deposit" you may need to pay the remainder of the deposit1 -
Booked with Hoseasons and no it doesn’t state 24 hour cancellation, but we hoped that legally it was possible. We paid the obligatory full deposit of £400.0

You would need to ask Hoseasons.Life in the slow lane1

Why not look at their website or booking confirmation? Quick search found this - Looks like will be the full deposit as cancellation https://www.hoseasons.co.uk/assets/uk-lodges-and-parks-terms.pdf

If they resell the OP's booking then they can't hold on to the entire deposit ... they can only charge for any losses caused by the OP's breach of contract. (e.g. admin costs, re-advertising costs, difference in sell price if they had to sell it for less than what OP was paying).
Also, do the T&Cs give Hoseasons the option to cancel a booking without penalty?1 -

Where did this 24 hour nonsense right of cancellation myth originate?
It seems very common these days!0 -

If the reason for your cancellation is covered by your travel insurance policy then you could claim off that.0
