Hello,
Brief background, me and my boyfriend lived together until very recently, and I believe the meter had been bypassed. I text him to remind him (when I was picking up my things) that I wan't the direct debit changed from our joint to his Barclays account.
I'm worried that as I lived there, am I liable to this if he says it was carried out by me? The house is in his name, the bills are under his name too.
Advice? Yes I have reported him too, as I don't want this coming back on me.

I don't know? I think it had been done, but as I said if he says it was me can I be done? Or as I lived there will I be held accountable?0

If the bill is in his name I would assume only would be accountable as he could blame it on anyone. I am not a lawyer though.

Contact the supplier asap as leaving it could end up with you liable .Its classed as Electricity Theft .0

You should also go to the bank inperson, not on the phone, and insist that either your name is removed from the joint account or that it be closed and you want it done immediately.
Once you have broken up, you don't know what could happen going forward, especially with joint accounts.0 -
You werent bothered about it beeing bypassed when you lived there and were stealing it the same way your boyfriend was.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.1
