Subsiding Grave

Hi all,
Just a quick question. The old man's grave has subsided again. We've re-soiled it about 5 times now over the last 3 years. It's a council plot. Is it our responsibility to keep re-soiling it or can we ask the council to do this? Is it a free service or would they charge us? I'm not sure why the grave keeps subsiding, the graves next to his are always fine.
I'm just asking in case anyone has any experience before I make contact with them.
Thanks a lot.

My dad's subsided and the council dealt with it promptly. While we did lay some gravel around the stone to make grass cutting look tidier, we would never have arrived with spades and earth. It is the councils responsibility, write to them so they have note of it. Do you ever see any of the grave yard staff? You could also mention it to them.1

Though it's a council owned cemetery, are you sure no family member has bought the burial rights to the plot because that will probably make a difference. You should arrange to meet the cemetary manager on site to discuss what needs to be done, different councils have different rules & budgets (or lack of) to meet different expectations.
You want it level & tidy, they aren't bothered so it may be a low or non existent priority.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.1 -
Thank you both. I will look into it. We have, in the past, turned up with spades and soil but it's becoming a regular thing and I can't be doing it every few months. I don't know if they have cemetery staff but will try and go one day and I will contact the Council again. They did in the past say someone will go and sort it but it's not happened yet.
Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it.
PS. It's just so random his grave constantly subsides but none of the ones near him do?0
