stamp duty question

Can anyone help me with this.
Have daughter with Cerebral palsy - buying her Ground floor flat nearby to my home so I can assist her with care needs. Do I really have to pay the more than one property stamp duty rate as I own my current home as well. Me getting her to property takes her off housing benefit where she currently lives and into a property whereby she wont have to claim HB anymore but my penalty for that is to be whacked with 10k stamp due bill on a £250k property. I am getting a Dependants mortgage for the property and placing large deposit funds. I really don't want to put the property in her name I feel she is to vulnerable to have a property in her name that someone else could take advantage of her.?

AFAIK there are no exemptions from stamp duty, but of course the best advice will come from the solicitor dealing with the purchase.0
