No kind of appeal to either UKCPS or the IAS had even the remotest chance of success. It would have been a total waste of your time.

As VW admit they cannot process any of the potential PCNs in timely fashion, get them to agree that they neither pay them off, nor charge you any administration charges, rather they write to the PPC informing them of your name and address as the hirer of the vehicle and require them to contact you direct.

As above , that is the correct course of action for VWFS , especially in future

    Thanks for the replies,
Based on the information I've read it looks like I might've stood a decent chance at getting these tickets waived because they were both sent out after 14 days as well as stating non-pofa. Unfortunately, they've both already been paid and I have been charged 1 and will no doubt be invoiced the second in the coming days.
As per Redx's comment... I haven't the slightest when it comes to fighting things at court :/
I will hope that my complaint through VWFS then FOS gets the resolution I'm hoping for unless anyone has any further advice?

Trust us - you had absolutely no chance whatsoever of having the tickets cancelled by UKCPS or the IAS. Issuing after 14 days, not using PoFA, doesn't invalidate the charge - and they will pursue relentlessly until they decide to discontinue or a Judge finds in your favour. PPCs don't play by any rules of normality!

most people who come here have no idea about the court process, perhaps 95% of them , so you are not alone

there was ZERO chance of getting this sorted with either UKCPS or the IAS, if you think different you have rose tinted glasses on

COURT is where this would be settled once and for all, on an individual basis

I have been told that even though the 'fine' has been paid, i am still able to appeal as normal.
Who told you that?  It was a lie.  The lease company's error caused this.

I have been given documents relating to a second fine which they hadn't sent to me prior to today!

You need to send in a letter of appeal, by post anyway (use the Edna Basher wording from the NEWBIES thread) that calls you the hirer/lessee of the car and attaches this but alter it to relate to the right one:

VWFS were slow in sending me the authorisation document so I called them up again this morning and asked for it to be re-sent.

The reason you need to appeal is NOT to beg to go to the IAS and YOU MUST NOT TRY THAT STAGE!!!

    NONONO.

The reason to appeal giving your name and postal address, as hirer, proving you are the lessee/hirer, is to hook this new PCN in your direction and to stop UKCPS firm being able to write to the stupid lease firm again.

DO NOT send letters to UKCPS expecting them to 'sign for' the letter.  Just take your appeal letter envelope to the PO counter with a normal 1st class stamp on it, and get (and keep) a free certificate of posting from the PO counter person.  No putting it in a postbox on street.

Has my path with fighting the tickets through the issuer ended

Nope, just make sure UKCPS are hooked in your direction by a postal appeal, and put it in writing (NO PHONE CALLS) to the lease firm that they are to pass any UKCPS letters about this car to you and must attach with each one, proof that they have written to UKCP to transfer liability, using the slip n the PCN, which is what they should have done all along.

Add that they are NOT authorised to pay any of them and the first one was their error and will be escalated to the BVRLA for ADR.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your in-depth reply, unfortunately, VWFS have agreed to pay the second ticket as well (and as a result will be charging me next month). Yesterday on the phone they sent me an email with multiple letters they should've sent but for some reason hadn't, and just apologised lol.  They've given me incorrect and contradicting information multiple times over the phone so I have no doubt that my complaint will be upheld, either by themselves or FOS, its just a matter of time before it gets dealt with. Based on what they said over the phone probably looking to go straight to FOS in about 6 weeks.

    Thanks again :)

Can you move to a new lease firm?
