BBC News - "I want to build a house but I can't get a plot" story

Does Rob Matson not realise that single self build plots are the monopoly of estate agents & small developers? Estate agents love the double bubble of selling the plot to a builder then selling it again for them as a new build later on. Sites like "Plotfinder" only served to sell second rate plots that the normal developers wouldn't touch. Seems odd blaming council policy for this.

Land banking is the other problem, not increasing the housing stock but more profits for the developers"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

It's so depressing. We should all be able to self-build or custom build our own houses or at least have a choice.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
